Chingford Mount Dentist wins Prize
 Dr. Sabina Bidgol, one of the dentists at our Chingford Mount Dental Practice, has won the 2010 prize for Best Case Presentation for the Whipps Cross Dental Vocational Training Scheme. The Champagne and Prize Certificate where presented by Eloise Nutton of Denplan, the company which sponsored the award.Dr. Bidgol's case presentation involved multiple dental disciplines including endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, prosthetics and bridge work. Principal Dentist, Dr. Raj Gogna was delighted for her. "Sabina chose a very complicated case and I am very pleased that she delivered such a high class case study", he said. Dr. Bidgol will be leaving Chingford Mount Dental Practice shortly to take up a position as SHO in Maxillofacial Surgery at The Eastman Dental Hospital, WC1. "I've had a fantastic year", she said, "My work as a dentist has been interesting and varied and I was very pleased to be part of the Whipps Cross Scheme". Endodontics at London Cosmetic Dentistry
 Endodontist, Dr. Periklis Ntelis, has joined our team at Chingford Mount Dental Practice. Dr. Ntelis graduated from the Dental School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2003. After working as an associate dentist in a private practice in Athens, he joined the Greek Air Force where he practised dentistry in the General Hospital of the Greek Air Force in Athens. He developed a special interest in Endodontics and, in 2005, moved to UK to work as a full-time associate in a mixed NHS/private practice in London before engaging in the MSc programme in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute (University College London). Porcelain Crowns to restore a Smile
 Crowns are commonly used to replace badly damaged teeth. There are many types of crown, but the most popular has a ceramic core beneath the cosmetic porcelain. These crowns look extremely natural as the tooth-coloured ceramic is translucent and looks very similar to tooth enamel. Paul is a good example of someone who wanted to rectify a specific flaw. One of his front teeth had been chipped and filled, and was also misshapen and discoloured. Our dentist suggested restoration using a ‘new generation’ all-ceramic crown. Paul was also keen to brighten his teeth, so our dentist also arranged a course of Home Teeth Whitening. The results are shown to the right and took just three weeks to achieve. Second Dental Hygienist joins Belgrave Dental Practice Team
 Monica joined Belgrave Dental Practice in December 2009. She qualified as a Dental Hygienist in the Women's Royal Naval Service in 1980, so brings with her many years’ experience in her field. She is kind and supportive and helps people to improve their oral health, while treating any existing gum conditions wth skill and care. She is particularly understanding of people who are nervous when attending for treatment, endeavouring to help them to overcome their fears and making any dental hygiene treatment as comfortable as possible. Using Porcelain Veneers to correct Dental Flaws
 Dental veneers are very versatile and can be used when teeth are cracked, bady discoloured, misaligned or otherwise aesthetically flawed. Porcelain veneers were a particularly good solution for one client who was concerned about the shape and alignment of her two top front teeth. She was referred to Dr. Gogna, our Senior Cosmetic Dentist, by a dentist from another surgery. Two thin porcelain veneers were made to correct the aesthetic flaws and these veneers were then fitted and bonded directly to the front surfaces of the teeth. Heidi was very pleased with the result and the photograph opposite shows her new smile. Dental veneers are always tailored to exact requirements.
