Ceramic Dental Inlays
Ceramic dental inlays are an alternative to fillings and are both aesthetically-pleasing and long lasting.
Tooth decay is removed just as it would be in the case of a normal filling, but an impression of the tooth and the surrounding teeth will be taken. The dentist then places a temporary filling in the tooth and the impression is sent to a laboratory where the ceramic dental inlay is made.
At the next dental visit, the temporary filling will be removed and the ceramic inlay will be fitted and bonded into place.
Ceramic Dental Crowns
If you have a tooth which is badly damaged, a dental crown may be the most appropriate option. They can be made of metal, ceramics or porcelain - or a combination of these materials - and can restore strength and eliminate discomfort.
The most popular dental crowns are metal free and have a ceramic core beneath cosmetic porcelain. They are extremely natural-looking in appearance because the tooth-coloured ceramic material is translucent, similar to the enamel of natural teeth. Ceramic and porcelain crowns are particularly suitable for front teeth or for highly visible teeth.
