Dr. Raj Gogna, Principal Dentist, BDS(Hons), LDS, DGDP, MGDSRCS( Eng.), MSc, FFGDP(UK) - Accredited Specialist in Prosthodontics
Dr. Raj Gogna has over 20 years' experience in general and cosmetic dentistry, and is the Principal Dentist at London Cosmetic Dentistry. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 1984 and passed the MGDS Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995. He obtained an MSc in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in 1996, became a Registered Specialist in Prosthodontics with the General Dental Council in 2002 and, in 2003, was awarded Fellowship in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons, the highest level of recognition in General Dental Practice from the Royal College.
Dr. Gogna is highly experienced in complex restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry including dental implants, porcelain veneers, multiple crowns and bridgework, removable prostheses and endodontics. He has particular expertise in "Smile Design" and "Smile Makeovers" and is passionate about improving the lives of patients through the creation of natural, healthy-looking smiles.
Dr. Raj Gogna has been involved in the training of newly qualified dentists for the past 19 years. He has been an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, a mentor for the Fellowship in General Dental Practice, and is a member of many prominent dental organisations.
Dr. Prag Lal BDS MDS FDSRCS DipDSed - Accredited Specialist in Oral Surgery
Dr. Prag Lal qualified in 1991. He is a skilled and trained surgeon, highly experienced in oral surgery and sedation. Dr. Lal's clinical and surgical practice covers most prescribed areas of oral surgical specialist practice, including surgical dental implants.
He accepts referrals from dental practitioners and other medical professionals for all aspects of oral surgery for adults, adolescents and children. He is able to provide treatment under local and general anaesthesia and has a special interest in use of conscious sedation. The latter is a valuable adjunct to patient management and treatment under local anaesthesia and assisting the treatment of the most anxious and phobic patients for whom general anaesthesia would otherwise be inevitable.
Dr. Lal works with our practice part-time. He teaches Oral Surgery and Sedation at Guys Dental Hospital and trains qualified dentists in this specialty. He has been active in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision throughout his career.
Dr. Pratik Sharma BDS, MFDS, MSc, M'Orth - Accredited Specialist in Orthodontics
Dr. Sharma qualified as a dentist at Guy's Dental Hospital in 1999, obtaining his Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree with Distinction. During hospital posts in oral & maxillofacial surgery, restorative dentistry and a year in general dental practice, he completed his postgraduate dental fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2001.
He went to complete a three-year full-time specialist orthodontic training program at The Royal London Hospital. During this period he obtained a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of London, achieving a distinction for his research thesis and subsequently went on to complete his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr. Sharma has been practising orthodontics exclusively since 2002 working part-time at our practice. He is also a Hospital consultant in Orthodontics. He has been published in the British Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery and has resented his research at national and international orthodontic conferences and meetings. He is on the specialist register (orthodontics) of the General Dental Council and is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Societies.
As an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Sharma accepts referrals for the full range of orthodontic problems affecting adults and children and provides a variety of treatments including cosmetic "tooth coloured" braces, self-ligating braces and Invisalign ® clear braces.
Dr. Chaw Su Kyi BDS(Lond), MFDS RCS(Eng), MSc(Lond), MOrth RCS(Eng) Accredited Specialist in Orthodontics
Dr. Chaw Su Kyi qualified in dentistry with a Distinction from Guy's Hospital in 1998. Dr. Kyi carried out her orthodontic training as a Specialist Registrar at The Royal London Hospital. She passed her MSc with a Distinction and subsequently obtained her specialist MOrth (Eng) qualification. She has published a number of scientific papers, presented at international conferences and was awarded the Fore Runner Prize at the World Orthodontic Conference (2005).
She provides a wide variety of orthodontic treatment for both children and adults. She is able to offer a range of treatment choices including aesthetic ceramic brackets, 'Damon' brackets and lingual orthodontics. Her special interests include adult orthodontics, functional appliances and the management of multidisciplinary cases.
Dr. Kyi accepts referrals for orthodontic problems affecting adults and children and provides a variety of treatments including cosmetic "tooth coloured" braces, self-ligating braces, Incognito ® invisible braces, lingual braces and Invisalign ® clear braces.
Dr. Anisa Khan BDS, MGDSRCSEd, MFDSRCPS, MFGDP, LDSRCS, DipDSed, DPwSI (Oral Surgery)
Dr. Anisa Khan obtained her primary Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) qualification from University College London in 1989. She has continued to obtain postgraduate qualifications throughout her career, passing the examination for Membership in General Dental Surgery from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MGDSRCS Ed.) in 2005.
Dr. Khan is highly experienced and qualified in all aspects of general dentistry and sedation including advanced restorative/cosmetic techniques, periodontics, endodontics, simple orthodontics and oral surgery. She has a special interest and qualifications relating to the treatment of anxious patients (DipDSed) and has extensive experience in this area. She has a gentle reassuring approach and her treatments include behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy and sedation (oral, intravenous and the more recent intranasal technique).
Dr. Khan is also experienced in achieving facial rejuvenation using BOTOX ® and dermal fillers as well as carrying out 'Smile Design' work to complement high-end dental treatments and complete the full facial aesthetic look for patients.
Dr. Nadia Ypsilanti - Accredited Specialist in Endodontics
Dr. Ypsilanti, qualified from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2004 after which she worked as a general dentist in private practice with duties in restorative dentistry. She completed a two year programme in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute in London and now works exclusively in the specialist area of Endodontics. She also lectures part-time and gives hand-on courses for general dentists at the Eastman Dental Institute.
Dr. Parneet Sehmi BDS
Dr. Sehmi joined our practice in 2006 and provides dental care for patients across a wide range of general dentistry. He has a very calm and reassuring manner and is particularly experienced in the treatment of children. Dr. Sehmi has continued his postgraduate education and attends many courses both in the UK and abroad.
Dr. Komal Mehta BDS
Dr. Mehta joined our practice in 2007 after qualifying from the Royal London Dental Hospital. She has continued her postgraduate training during her time with us, enabling her to develop a wide range of skills and techniques. She has a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry and is committed to delivering a high standard of dental care.
Dr. Arif Rashid BDS
Dr. Rashid qualified from the King's College London Dental Institute in 2008 with Honours and joined Chingford Mount Dental Practice in September 2008. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and thrives on new challenges. He has a keen interest in restorative dentistry, paediatric dentistry and oral surgery and hopes to expand on these clinical skills throughout his post graduate training.
Our Dental Hygienists and Therapists
Hygienists are an essential part of the dental care team and provide valuable support to our dentists. They provide dental hygiene treatments to remove plaque and promote gum health. They also dispense health information and advice on the prevention of gum disease.
Stephanie Norris EDH, Dip DHE
Stephanie qualified as a Dental Hygienist from The Eastman Dental Hospital in 1987. She has over 20 years experience working in various hospitals and dental practices, and has worked at London Cosmetic Dentistry for 8 years. Stephanie treats patients of all ages and covers a wide range of clinical needs from simple maintenance care to those requiring more complex gum treatments. She advises patients on dental care at home to help in the prevention of gum disease and provides gentle, friendly and supportive care. Stephanie is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Tara Taheri EDH, Dip DHE
Tara qualified as Orthodontic Nurse at the Eastman Dental Hospital in 2003 and went on to gain her 'Certificate in Oral Health Education' from the Eastman in the same year. She completed her Dental Hygienist course at Guys Dental Hospital and qualified in 2005. Since then, Tara has worked at London Cosmetic Dentistry. She carries out dental hygiene treatments and provides advice on maintaining good oral hygiene. Tara is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy. Prior to embarking on a career as a dental professional, Tara completed a degree in Child Psychology.
Jasmin Kavakeb EDH, Dip DHE
Jasmin qualified as a Dental Hygienist and Therapist from Kings College University. She has a BSc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (2003), an ABPI Certification, and also has an MSc in Information Systems and Technology (2004). She has experience in treating adults and children with severe gum disease as well as expertise in motivating and encouraging patients to carry out total gum and tooth care. She tailors treatment to each individual patient's needs and ensures that a high level of treatment is provided in a relaxed and friendly environment. Jasmin worked St. Thomas' Hospital, Kings College Dental Institute, St. George's Hospital and Guy's Hospital as both a hygienist and therapist during her training and is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Our Managers
Susi Mews is Practice Manager at Belgrave Dental Practice and Stella Davis manages Chingford Mount Dental Practice. Both head friendly, helpful support teams and have great enthusiasm and dedication to efficient practice management and high quality patient care.
Stella Davis
Stella joined London Cosmetic Dentistry in January 2008. Her primary role is as Practice Manager for Chingford Mount Dental Practice, but she also has administrative and operations responsibilities within the Group. Stella has 35 years' experience in the dental field, as an area manager for a corporate dental company with responsibility for ten practices, and also in dental laboratory work.
Susi Mews
Susi joined us in autumn 2007 and is responsible for the day-to-day running of Belgrave Dental Practice. She has ten years' experience in dental practice work and held several senior nursing positions in the UK, prior to moving into management.
Susi is originally from Halle, near Leipzig.

Our Administrative and Retail Support Staff
