Dr. Raj Gogna has over 20 years' experience in general and cosmetic dentistry, and is the Principal Dentist at London Cosmetic Dentistry. He graduated from the University of Manchester in 1984 and passed the MGDS Diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995. He obtained an MSc in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in 1996, became a Registered Specialist in Prosthodontics with the General Dental Council in 2002 and, in 2003, was awarded Fellowship in General Dental Practice from the Royal College of Surgeons, the highest level of recognition in General Dental Practice from the Royal College.
Dr. Gogna is highly experienced in complex restorative dentistry and cosmetic dentistry including dental implants, porcelain veneers, multiple crowns and bridgework, removable prostheses and endodontics. He has particular expertise in "Smile Design" and "Smile Makeovers" and is passionate about improving the lives of patients through the creation of natural, healthy-looking smiles.
Dr. Raj Gogna has been involved in the training of newly qualified dentists for the past 19 years. He has been an examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons, a mentor for the Fellowship in General Dental Practice, and is a member of many prominent dental organisations.
Dr. Prag Lal qualified in 1991. He is a skilled and trained surgeon, highly experienced in oral surgery and sedation. Dr. Lal's clinical and surgical practice covers most prescribed areas of oral surgical specialist practice, including surgical dental implants.
He accepts referrals from dental practitioners and other medical professionals for all aspects of oral surgery for adults, adolescents and children. He is able to provide treatment under local and general anaesthesia and has a special interest in use of conscious sedation. The latter is a valuable adjunct to patient management and treatment under local anaesthesia and assisting the treatment of the most anxious and phobic patients for whom general anaesthesia would otherwise be inevitable.
Dr. Lal works with our practice part-time. He teaches Oral Surgery and Sedation at Guys Dental Hospital and trains qualified dentists in this specialty. He has been active in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and supervision throughout his career.
Dr. Sharma qualified as a dentist at Guy's Dental Hospital in 1999, obtaining his Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree with Distinction. During hospital posts in oral & maxillofacial surgery, restorative dentistry and a year in general dental practice, he completed his postgraduate dental fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh in 2001.
He went to complete a three-year full-time specialist orthodontic training program at The Royal London Hospital. During this period he obtained a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of London, achieving a distinction for his research thesis and subsequently went on to complete his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
Dr. Sharma has been practising orthodontics exclusively since 2002. He works part-time at our practice. As well as treating our orthodontic clients, he is also a Consultant in Orthodontics at the Royal London Hospital and a Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary's School of Medicine and Dentistry. He has been published in the British Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial surgery and has resented his research at national and international orthodontic conferences and meetings. He is on the specialist register (orthodontics) of the General Dental Council and is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Societies.
As an orthodontic specialist, Dr. Sharma accepts referrals for the full range of orthodontic problems affecting adults and children and provides a variety of treatments including cosmetic "tooth coloured" braces, self-ligating braces and Invisalign ® clear braces.
Dr. Chia qualified as a dentist at Guy's Dental Hospital in 1998, obtaining a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree with Distinction. He was awarded a number of clinical and academic prizes during this time. Following hospital posts in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Restorative Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry, he received his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001.
He went on to complete a three-year full-time specialist Orthodontic training programme at The Royal London Hospital. During this period, he obtained a Master of Science degree in Orthodontics from the University of London and completed his Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2005. He was also awarded the Geoffrey Fletcher Prize from the British Orthodontic Society.
He undertook a further two years of higher specialist training at the Eastman Dental Institute and was awarded the Fellowship in Dental Surgery (Orthodontics) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2008.
Dr. Chia is an accredited specialist and is on the specialist register for Orthodontics at the General Dental Council. He is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Societies.
Dr. Chia is also a Consultant Orthodontist based at hospitals in London and Surrey. He has published scientific papers and presented his research at National and International Orthodontic conferences. He is also a contributing author and reviewer for a number of National and International journals. He is involved in teaching Orthodontics at postgraduate level and actively lectures to postgraduate students and the wider dental community. More recently, he has been appointed as an examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
Dr. Anisa Khan obtained her primary Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) qualification from University College London in 1989. She has continued to obtain postgraduate qualifications throughout her career, passing the examination for Membership in General Dental Surgery from The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (MGDSRCS Ed.) in 2005.
Dr. Khan is highly experienced and qualified in all aspects of general dentistry and sedation including advanced restorative/cosmetic techniques, periodontics, endodontics, simple orthodontics and oral surgery. She has a special interest and qualifications relating to the treatment of anxious patients (DipDSed) and has extensive experience in this area. She has a gentle reassuring approach and her treatments include behavioural therapy, hypnotherapy and sedation (oral, intravenous and the more recent intranasal technique).
Dr. Periklis Ntelis graduated from the Dental School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece in 2003. After working as an associate dentist in a private practice in Athens, he joined the Greek Air Force, where he practised dentistry in the General Hospital of the Greek Air Force, Athens.
He developed a special interest in Endodontics and he was placed with the Prosthetic and Restorative Department of the hospital's Dental Unit. In 2005, he moved to UK where he worked as a full-time associate in a mixed NHS/private practice in London before engaging in the MSc programme in Endodontics at the Eastman Dental Institute (University College London). He now works exclusively in the area of Endodontics.
Dr. Sehmi joined our practice in 2006 and provides dental care for patients across a wide range of general dentistry. He has a very calm and reassuring manner and is particularly experienced in the treatment of children. Dr. Sehmi has continued his postgraduate education and attends many courses both in the UK and abroad.
Dr. Mehta joined our practice in 2007 after qualifying from the Royal London Dental Hospital. She has continued her postgraduate training during her time with us, enabling her to develop a wide range of skills and techniques. She has a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry and is committed to delivering a high standard of dental care.
Hygienists are an essential part of the dental care team and provide valuable support to our dentists. They provide dental hygiene treatments to remove plaque and promote gum health. They also dispense health information and advice on the prevention of gum disease.
Stephanie qualified as a Dental Hygienist from The Eastman Dental Hospital in 1987. She has over 20 years experience working in various hospitals and dental practices, and has worked at London Cosmetic Dentistry for 8 years. Stephanie treats patients of all ages and covers a wide range of clinical needs from simple maintenance care to those requiring more complex gum treatments. She advises patients on dental care at home to help in the prevention of gum disease and provides gentle, friendly and supportive care. Stephanie is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Soraya qualified as a Dental Hygienist at King's College Dental Hospital in 1999. She has worked in a number of central London dental practices since then and joined London Cosmetic Dentistry in September 2009. Soraya is an experienced hygienist who provides a high standard of dental hygiene treatments, treats patients with severe gum disease and advises on maintaining good oral hygiene. She is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Amanda joined Belgrave Dental Practice in August 2009. She carries out a full range of dental hygiene treatments and provides advice on how to maintain good oral hygiene. Amanda qualified as a Dental Hygienist from the Eastman Dental Hospital in London and is a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy.
Monica joined Belgrave Dental Practice in December 2009. She qualified as a Dental Hygienist in the Women's Royal Naval Service in 1980, so brings with her many years' experience in her field. Through knowledge and understanding and working in a kind, supportive way, she helps people to achieve excellent oral health, while treating any existing gum conditions with skill and care. She is particularly considerate and understanding of people who are nervous when attending for treatment, endeavouring to help them to overcome their fears and make any treatment as comfortable as possible. Monica is a member of the British Association of Dental Hygiene & Therapy.
Our Practice Managers head friendly, helpful support teams and have great enthusiasm and dedication to efficient practice management and high quality patient care.
Gillian joined Belgrave Dental Practice as Practice Manager in March 2010. She has responsibility for the day-to-day running of the practice, the management of staff and ad hoc dental reception duties. Gillian has worked in both management and administrative roles for a number of London- based dental practices over the past 12 years and was Practice Manager at her last practice for 7 years.
Helen, Karen, Rebekka, Nader, Nikki and Eleanor each have many years' nursing experience, enabling us to deliver the highest quality dental care.
Reception, administrative and retail duties are carried out by Senior Receptionists Denise and Terri and Retail Executive Nikki.
